A Number of Hurt as Turbulence Hits A Delta Airlines Aircraft into Sydney
Several people were hurt when a Delta flight from LA to Sydney, Australia was hit by turbulence on Friday morning.
Delta Flight 41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it made its approach and landed at Sydney Airport, an airline spokesperson informed. Several cabin crew members were injured.
Emergency medical services said they assessed a total of five people, and transferred three of them to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries that included spinal discomfort and head pain. The patients' ages were between their 30s up to the 70s.
It is the newest example of aircraft encountering turbulence, with experts saying that shifting climate patterns is a major factor.
On board were 245 passengers and fifteen staff members on the wide-body jet, the representative said, stating that the plane touched down "safely" at the airport at shortly before 7 a.m. on the day in question.
